LSN ACT Prep Crash Course

This is an intensive course designed to prepare students for taking the ACT. The course will cover test-taking strategies and provide links to resources for students who need additional help with the content.

The ACT has made some changes! To learn more about the changes to the test, visit the ACT website.

Registering for the ACT Test

To take the test on one of the national testing dates, students will need to register online at act.org (LSN school code: 261-901). The cost of the test varies from $65-94 depending on whether or not the student takes the optional Science and/or Writing tests. On national test dates, students will be able to choose whether they want to take the test online or on paper (the cost is the same for each).

All juniors will take the test at school in 2027. The cost of this test is covered by the school district.

Registering for the Prep Course

Sign up for a prep course by filling out the ACT Prep Class Sign Up Form. This information and link is also found on the Academics tab of the school’s website. You can sign up for any session, regardless of your test date. There is no deadline to enroll in a prep course.

The price of the course is $35. Students will receive a workbook to use during the course. We will be using the Kaplan ACT Total Prep 2026 book (ISBN# 978-1506297590). This fee covers the cost of the workbook. Please see Terri Clement in the front office to pay the fee and receive your book. Checks should be made out to Lee’s Summit North High School. Fee assistance is available for LSN students who qualify for free and reduced lunch; speak with the Guidance Office for details. Additional materials can be purchased based on the students’ needs. Links to supplemental materials will be available in the Schoology course.
